Following channels and content in the app

In the Igloo Mobile app, you can follow channels and content to receive notifications about them. Notifications from channels and content you follow will appear in the Feed tab.

Considerations

  • Notifications:
    • When you subscribe to content using the app, the subscription frequency is set to Instant.
    • You can control whether you also receive email and push notifications for these subscriptions, in addition to Feed tab notifications. See Managing your push and instant subscription email notifications in the app.
    • When you subscribe to a channel, you will receive notifications when
      • New content is added to the channel.
      • Edits are made to the channel.
    • When you subscribe to content, you will receive notifications when:
      • Content is edited.
      • Comments are added to the content
      • Content is moved to a different channel.
  • Favoriting: If you want to monitor a channel but don't want to follow it and receive notifications, you can favorite it to make it accessible from the Favorites tab.

Follow channels and content

Before following a channel or content, you must first navigate to it.

  • Navigate to a channel using search: While viewing any tab other than the Web tab:
    1. Tap Search.
    2. Enter the name of the channel that you want to follow.
    3. Tap Search or select a recent search suggestion.
    4. (Optional) If the search defaults to the People tab, tap Content to view content results instead.
    5. Tap a search result to go to it. 
  • Navigate to a channel through its content: While viewing content in the channel you want to follow, tap the channel name at the top of the app.

While viewing a channel or content,, select Menu to display follow options. When viewing content, you can choose to follow the content, the channel it belongs to, or both.
