Igloo Digital Signage is a powerful tool for engaging your digital workplace users to bring real-time updates and critical information to a bigger screen with a turnkey digital signage solution. This scalable connector framework allows your organization to create personalized information channels for as many different displays as needed, extending the reach of the digital workplace beyond the digital into physical displays in your offices, breakrooms, shop floors, restaurants, and more.

Considerations

  • Mapped content: The following information from a blog article will automatically map over to digital signs:
    • Content Title
    • Featured Image: No image will be displayed if an article does not have a featured image. 
    • Author: Optional based on display templates selected during configuration. 
    • Date published: Optional based on display templates selected during configuration.
    • Summary: If available.
    • H2 headings: Optional if a display template supports using H2 headings. The headings will be displayed as bullet points.
  • Content Legibility: As digital signs can be 5 to 30 feet from the reader, ensure legibility by creating a summary that contains no more than two short lines of text, using sans serif fonts, and using italicized words sparingly. 

Configuration

Before using Igloo Digital Signage, the Customer Success team will help guide you through the configuration process in your digital workplace and your preferred third-party platform, ensuring your signage matches your organization's branding and communication needs.

An enterprise or workplace administrator can perform these configuration steps in the digital workplace to prepare for Igloo Digital Signage: 

  1. Add a service account: Add a service account to Igloo that can provide access to Igloo Digital Signage's third-party providers. Use a distinguishable name such as "DS Service." Follow the instructions in Adding a member to the digital workplace.
  2. Add a dedicated blog channel: (Optional) Add a dedicated blog channel to the digital workplace to contain all Igloo Digital Signage content. Use a distinguishable site name, such as "Digital Signage." Follow the instructions in Blog channels.
  3. Assign access permissions: Assign Read access to the channel (Step 2) for the user created in Step 1, allowing Igloo Digital Signage's third-party providers to access the channel's content. Follow the instructions in Access rules.

Next, work with your Customer Success team to complete the necessary mapping to templates, create playlists for your designated digital signage locations, and any additional configuration with your preferred third-party provider to finalize the presentation of your physical displays. 

Publish content

Once the configuration has been completed, sharing content with your physical displays is easy. To surface content via Igloo Digital Signage, you can select the dedicated and configured channel when publishing. See Blog articles for instructions on creating blog articles. When the blog article is published, it is automatically surfaced on the physical display with a QR code that allows users to scan it and be directed to the article in the digital workplace.
