Every digital workplace has an associated preview workplace. At least once every month, the contents and structure of this preview workplace are deleted and replaced with those of your live digital workplace.
You can use this preview workplace to experiment with changes to your digital workplace without impacting your live workplace and test upcoming features shortly before they come out. Any changes to your preview environment are temporary, as they will be permanently lost when it updates and cannot be applied to your live digital workplace.

Where to access the workplace preview
You can access your preview workplace by:
- Select Control Panel.
- Under Settings, select Community Details.
- Under Community Preview Address, select the link to open the preview workplace's sign-in page in another browser window. This will allow you to log into your preview workplace using Igloo authentication credentials from your live workplace.
If your preview digital workplace is configured to use SSO authentication, you must modify the Community Preview Address link to remove/?signin
from the URL to access the preview workplace via SSO authentication. See Can't access digital workplace preview for help logging into the preview workplace.
Request a customized URL for your preview workplace
You can request a personalized URL for your preview workplace by contacting Igloo Support. Depending on the location of your digital workplace's server, the following subdomains are supported: igloopreview.com
or igloopreview.ca
. The URL could appear similar to https://customercare.igloopreview.com
. Please provide the new URL address you want to use when submitting your request.
Unavailable features and functionality
Although the preview workplace is a clone of your live digital workplace, it does not have the same features and functionality enabled. The following features and functionality do not function in your preview workplace.
- Adding members via an invitation
- Anonymous Access (locations with anonymous access prompt the user to sign in)
- Content creation via email
- Subscription and Broadcast email notifications
- Public Registration (since anonymous users cannot access the Join button)
The outcomes of the following actions may not be consistent with your live workplace:
- Search: Search in your preview workplace may produce different results than the exact search in your live workplace. Specifically, content changes and additions during the last live and most recent preview updates will not be returned in search.
When workplace preview updates
Preview workplace updates occur alongside new platform releases, which typically happen once every month. Approximately one week before a new release, the changes and updates of the release are applied to your preview workplace. At this time, the content and structure of the preview workplace are replaced with those of the live workplace.
Your preview workplace may be updated multiple times depending on events impacting a release.
