You can notify other digital workplace members of important content by broadcasting it with a custom message. Broadcasts arrive as email notifications outside the platform, as messages inside the digital workplace, and as items in the mobile app's Notifications tab for targeted group members. Users can then select the link in the broadcast to go to that location in the digital workplace.

Content types: The content types that can be broadcast:
- Channels (existing)
- Pages (existing)
- Space homepages (existing)
- Member Directory page (existing)
- Site Activity page (existing)
- Blog articles (new and existing)
- Calendar events (new and existing)
- Files and folders (existing)
- Microblog posts (existing)
- Forum topics (new and existing)
- Wiki articles (new and existing)
- Receiving broadcasts: If a user is a member of multiple selected groups to receive a broadcast, they will only receive one broadcast notification.
- Digital workplace notifications: If a digital workplace's notifications are turned off, a broadcast email notification will not be sent. However, the broadcast will still appear in their messages.
- Broadcast option visibility: The broadcast option will not be visible if you do not have an appropriate access level or role.
- Broadcast group names: Depending on the broadcast settings in the Control Panel's Global Settings, group names may not appear in the broadcast. See Configuring broadcasts

Broadcast new content (except for blog articles)
When creating new events, forum topics, and wiki articles, content creators in a group with a broadcast role can access the broadcast option under Advanced Options.
- When creating new content, scroll down and expand the Advanced Options area.
- Under Broadcasting, search for and select the groups you want to send a broadcast notification to. After selecting groups, you can select a group name to see the group members in a dialog.
- For users with the broadcast role, the groups and the total number of recipients available to be broadcast may vary due to your digital workplace's broadcast policies. See Configuring broadcasts for more information on broadcast limitations.
- Enter a brief message to include in the notification using the editor. This message cannot exceed 2,000 characters (this includes characters found in HTML).
Your digital workplace will send this broadcast to the selected groups when the content is published.
Broadcast new blog articles
- When creating new blog articles, scroll down to and expand the Advanced Options area.
- Under Broadcasting, search for and select the groups you want to send a broadcast notification to. After selecting groups, you can select a group name to see the group members in a dialog.
- For users with the broadcast role, the groups and the total number of recipients available to be broadcast may vary due to your digital workplace's broadcast policies. See Configuring broadcasts for more information on broadcast limitations.
- Configure the following fields:
- Broadcast Type: Select Call to Action for a limited article broadcast with a button, or News Article to broadcast the full article.

Broadcast Image: Select from the following options:
- Email logo: Broadcast is sent with the standard email logo.
- Article feature image: (Only available if the article contains a featured image. Otherwise, the option will be greyed out and a warning "The article has no feature image." will be displayed.) The broadcast is sent with the article's feature image. See Feature image.
- Upload image: The broadcast includes an image that you can upload. You can upload a GIF, PNG, or JPG/JPEG file with a recommended image size of 600 x 160px. You can select the image to resize it, change its focal point, or add alternative text for accessibility.
- No image: Broadcast is sent without an image.
- Enter a brief message to include in the notification using the editor. This message cannot exceed 2,000 characters (this includes characters found in HTML).
- (Optional) If the channel's notification settings are turned off and you have selected News Article as the Broadcast Type, an error message "You selected full article body broadcast but channel notification setting for full article is disabled." will be displayed. You can select Override channel setting to publish with the full article body in the broadcast.
Your digital workplace will send this broadcast to the selected groups when the content is published.
Broadcast existing content (except for blog and wiki articles)
- Navigate to the content.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Broadcast.
- Search for and select the groups you want to send a broadcast notification to. After selecting groups, you can select a group name to see the group members in a dialog.
- For users with the broadcast role, the groups and the total number of recipients available to be broadcast may vary due to your digital workplace's broadcast policies. See Configuring broadcasts for more information on broadcast limitations.

- Select Send.

- Navigate to the wiki article.

- Send broadcast as author: Select to send the broadcast as the wiki article's author.
- Add Message to Broadcast: Enter a brief message to include in the notification using the editor. This message cannot exceed 2,000 characters (this includes characters found in HTML).
- Select Send.
Broadcast existing blog articles
- Navigate to the blog article.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Broadcast. After selecting groups, you can select a group name to see the group members in a dialog.
- Search for and select the groups you want to send a broadcast notification to.

- Configure the following fields:
- Broadcast Type: Select Call to Action for a limited article broadcast with a button, or News Article to broadcast the full article. If channel notifications are turned off and you choose News Article, a warning message "You selected full article body broadcast but channel notification setting for full article is disabled." will be displayed and the article will be sent without the article's body content.

Broadcast Image: Select from the following options:

- (Optional) Send Broadcast: To send the broadcast later at a prescheduled time, select Later. Configure the following fields:
- Publish date: Select a date to send the broadcast in the future.
- Publish time: Select a time to send the broadcast in the future.
- Publish timezone: Select a timezone. By default, this field is configured to your digital workplace's timezone. However, you can select an alternative time zone to tailor your content publishing to digital workplace members in different time zones.
- Select Send Now/Save.
Manage blog article broadcasts
As blog broadcasts can be scheduled, you can access the previously sent broadcasts as well as the scheduled broadcasts.
To manage your scheduled broadcasts via the Manage page:
- Go to the channel where the blog article resides, and select
Actions and then Manage. Alternatively, you can add
?action=manageto your channel URL. - On the Manage page, you can select the following:

Unpublished: In the Unpublished tab, you can find articles that are scheduled to be published. Select the article title to view the blog article. The article will indicate that a broadcast has been included with the article. Select
Actions and then Edit to view and edit the broadcast.
- Scheduled Broadcasts: In the Scheduled Broadcasts tab, you can view currently scheduled broadcasts for published articles and select the article title to view the blog article's Broadcasts tab where you can use the options in the section below.
- Sent Broadcasts: In the Sent Broadcasts tab, you can find previously sent broadcasts. Select the article's title to view the blog article and see the available details about the broadcast in the Sent tab.

To manage scheduled broadcasts via the blog article:
- Go to the blog article and select Broadcasts. In the Broadcasts tab, you will be able to view currently scheduled broadcasts, and you can:

Edit a scheduled broadcast: Select
Menu, then Edit and make your changes. Select Save.

Delete a scheduled broadcast: Select
Menu, then Delete, and when prompted, select Yes.
