Invitations
In this section administrators can invite people to become members of their online community.
Sending an invitation can be done in three easy steps:
1. Enter name, email and a personal message and preview the message
2. Add to the appropriate Group(s)
3. Click Send Invitation
The status of pending invitations can also be seen from this page. Invitations can be re-sent or removed as necessary.
Groups
There are two default groups that come as standard with a community: Members and Administrators. There are five additional default groups that help the Administrators by facilitating a specific section of the community: Blogs Managers, Calendar Managers, Forums Managers, Gallery Managers, and Membership managers. Many more custom groups may be added to a community by using the "Add Group" button.
Community groups help to organize a community's membership. Members can organized by community role, permission levels, group interests, or any other logical category. Community administrators can add members to the various Administrators groups to help with the management of the community. They can also set up custom administrative groups to manage certain sections of the community.
Registration
If a community is public administrators can allow visitors to request membership. In this area administrators can choose to have automatic membership (no validation required) or require the request to be approved by the community administrators.
In both instances the community administrators will be emailed notification.
If approval is required for new member to join, administrators can view perspective members from this page.
Occationally when a member registers they will have trouble receiving their activation email (see account creation). Administrators can help out these members if necessary using the Registration Troubleshooting feature.
