  • Rating System- members use a  5 star rating system; 1star (low rating)  to 5 stars (high rating)
  • Rating
  • Duplication - members can only rate a specific piece of content once; this avoids skewed ratings; members can change their rating after 10 minutes
  • Average Rating - displays number of members who have rated the content including the average score
  • Privacy -member ratings are private, only the rating score and average rating is displayed
  • Toggling - rating can be enabled or disabled from the Control Panel
  • Search Results - rating scores are displayed in the search results page

This feature allows you to rate document files, audio files, video files, blog articles, forum discussion articles, photos and any file you've uploaded. This is done by a visual representation of stars. From one star to five stars indicating lowest to highest rating respectively. Just hover the cursor over the stars and click your mouse over your chosen rating.

There are two parts to ratings, the average rating and the user rating of the file.
The user rating is your own custom rating. You're allowed a single rating which you can change at any time. Even if you decide to change your rating, it will still count as 1 rating and won't be added to the overall number of ratings of that file.
The average rating is the average of all the ratings that have been submitted by members.

How to turn on Ratings for your community:

  1. Click on 'Control Panel' (top right of your community in the user bar)
  2. Go the the Settings options at the bottom
  3. Click on 'Other Settings'
  4. Check the box next to 'Enable Rating'
