Frequently Asked Questions: Profiles and Passwords

How do I Join an Igloo Community?

There are two ways to join an Igloo community: by accepting an email Invitation or by pressing the " Join Now " button found at the community. Private communities are joined by invitation only.
To invite someone to a community an administrator sends out an invitation from their Control panel under " Users". The invitation will be sent to the potential member's email account. To accept an Invitation the user must click the " Join Now " link in the email.
Clicking on the "Join Now" link from either the email invitation or directly from the community will bring the user to a Registration page where they enter their name, email address and set their password.
Once they have registered the member will receive an email asking them to Activate their account. This is done to make sure the user has registered with their own email address. To Activate their account the user should click the link in their activation email. This will log them in and direct them to the community homepage.
Sometimes the activation, registration or reset password emails will be filtered into your Spam or Junkmail folder. If you cannot find the activation email this is a good place to check first.

Why Can't I log onto a community? - I just registered

Once you have registered you are sent an email asking you to Activate your account. To log in for the first time you must click on the link in the activation email. After this you can log in by clicking "sign in" at the top of the community's page.
Sometimes the activation email will be filtered into your Spam or Junkmail folder. If you cannot find the activation email this is a good place to check first.

A User cannot remove themselves from a community. An administrator of the community has to revoke their membership.

Question - what is the turn-around time for the new password email to be sent? I am hearing that people are not receiving the email...

Bryan Willey Bryan Willey said 5 months ago

It gets sent out right away. If users are not receiving the email then they should check their junk mail or contact their IT deparment to ensure that no-reply@igloosoftware.com is white listed on their spam filter.
