Preventing Access to User Profiles

In the control panel->settings->public/private access, there is a drop down menu for member profile access, you can set this to members only. Then users will have to sign in to view member profiles.

On the member directory page itself. On the members page administrators can click on the drop down arrow in the top corner of the page->the click advanced and then they can check the NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW and NOARCHIVE boxes under the Meta Robots section.
