Media

You can embed video, slideshows, podcasts, and other flash objects into almost every page.

You can embed media from other sites such as YouTube or you can upload files to your community.

To embed an object click on the embed media button:

and enter the URL of the item or its embed code.

Websites such as YouTube provide the embed code beside the video- if you cannot find this code or it does not seem to work (some players provide incomplete code for more advanced uses)  you can use the URL of the media object.

If you have a file of your own that you would like to display simply go to a folder and upload like a document (upload file). When you view the file it should give you an embed code underneath the document details at the right side of the object. Simply enter this or the URL into the "

 

A best practice is to create movies in the format .flv, as they are rendered in a media player with controls, as seen below.

 

In any other format, videos will appear as below, unless viewed in fullscreen.

Most commonly used file types can be played on our system. Here is a list of what we support:

Videos should be limited to 30mb size which roughly translates into:

• DVD quality video stream is about 3 minutes
• CD quality video stream is about 8 minutes

A best practice is to make sure videos are as close to the normal radio as possible (1.33), as the video is converted into a in a 320x240 target ratio.

Tips & Tricks:

  • If your video is not being process but its category is listed above, please to refer to the detailed list of supported types/version...it may be that your specific file is a subset that is not supported:
