Cache & Cookies

Definitions:

  • Cache: stored web pages, images, cookies, and other downloaded content of sites you have visited.
  • Cookies: stored personal setting from the sites you have visited (example: view preferences or sign in information).

Why must cookies be enabled?

Cookies in our system are used for both signed in, and non-signed in users (i.e. viewers). Cookies allow the system to authenticate the user's membership to ensure they only have access to areas and actions assigned to them (ex. commenting an a blog article or creating a wiki page).

For viewers, cookies are used to enhance their experience; our platform allows viewers to interact with the community in some select ways (ex.  viewing past "pulse" items or hovering over member profiles to see their profile cards); the system uses cookies to keep track of what state the user is in, and what their previous relevant actions were.

Allowing Cookies:

You will need to allow cookies for the community you are browsing or a member of as well as the system's 'master domain': iglooplatform.com.

For what purpose is the IGLOO platform using "iglooplatform.com"?

We utilize "iglooplatform.com" to allow our platform to recognize the same user on more than one IGLOO run domain;  once you sign on to one IGLOO community, you are logged onto all of them.  For example if you sign on to support.igloosoftware.com you are recognized as the same user on www.igloosoftware.com, this is achieved through cookies and the "master domain".

Cookies & Security:

As mentioned above, the system utilizes cookie information to enhance all our user's experiences. Cookies do not support the gathering of personal information and therefore your privacy is secure. For more information on Cookies and common misconceptions please visit:
