Several ideas on improving subscription management
1) The Subscriptions page is very hard to work with, because the names of the different content items get cut off after only 12 characters. I'd suggest having a list of all subscription content with radio buttons/dropdown list next to it where you can choose your preference.
Each followed item could have a check box next to it in a list. Then, being able to perform bulk actions on multiple subscription items would save time. For example, with so many instant notifications, it would be a lot easier to simply check off a bunch of them and be able to bulk apply a subscription setting (daily, weekly etc.)
2) Weekly digest/monthly digest - a single weekly/monthly digest would be useful. It is confusing to receive multiple weekly digests, and there is no way to consolidate them.
3) The dropdown menus showing the different subscription options don't appear to be functional, so to change something you have to click into the item itself. It would be more useful to be able to change those preferences here.

We will be replacing the Subscriptions interface altogether with something else (potentially a feed) - it barely serves any purpose. This will resolve point 1 and 3. As to when this will happen I cannot tell - it's one of the nice-to-have projects for this year (since users can already accomplish a feed of updates to their subscribed items via a widget on the Person Dashboard).
With regards to point #2 - we are currently investigating this issue and may have a resolution ready for the end of Q2.
Ivan, thanks for the reply. I look forward to seeing the next iteration of the subscriptions function.
