Question

What determines when the "question" icon appears?

The "question" graphic is useful for finding new questions with no replies, however, it seems to display inconsistently. I just noticed that there are several open questions on our site from 1-14 days ago, none of which have been tagged with the "question" graphic. Likewise, there are questions that have been answered that still include the "question" graphic. So, now this doesn't seem as useful as originally thought since we still have to go through and look for any questions without replies manually. Can you explain how this tag works and why it doesn't disappear when a question has a response (with no new activity after initial response)?

Hello Lynda, I have just set your forum post as a question. When a user creates a forum post the first drop down menu available to them has for option in it. Yours was set to start a discussion. This is the regular forum post and carries no special tag or graphic. By changing it from discussion to Question the question graphic appears.

I hope this helps.

Furthermore, we have built in a filter to show you Answered or Unanswered questions. You can see that by following the next steps:

  1. Click on "All Topics" dropdown just above the first topic you see
  2. Select "Questions" filter
  3. The page will reload and you will now see "Answered" and "Need Answer" filter options available on the right.
