Question

Publish as feature

When publishing a post from draft mode, I see an option to "publish as" - however, only my name appears in the drop-down.

1) Is this a real feature?  This would be incredibly valuable.  We are a business and need to post on behalf of our executives

2) How come I can only select mysefl?  As an admin, I'd expect to be able to post as anyone.

Hi Rachel,

You need to add the person as an Author first before they will show up in the drop down. You should see an Add Author option on the Draft page.

It will do what you want to do. And it is very useful for your use case.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I see that now.  Are there permissions on this?  Can any user add another user as an author?  Or do you need a certain permissions level?  Because that could certainly cause some trouble!

There are no permissions on adding an author, but any authors you add are notified and any authors recieve permissions on the content that is published with them as an anuthor. This allows them to easliy delete it incase some one is silly and posts something not appropriate in their name. This is all tracked in the activity as well so an administrator can see who posted the article even though the author may be different.
