Listing blog channels in different in different orders (eg. alphabetically)

Currently blog channels are listed by most recent posts.  A member of my community who is managing the blogs hoped to list them alphabetically.

They explain: "In my perspective the alphabetical order for blogs just makes them neater and more presentable to users or even to visitors. It provides a clear organizational scheme. And, everytime someone goes in there to find a category to read through, they know exactly where they are going to find it. "

I agree that a sorting capability should be added to the Channels "Widget" on the side (Alphabetical, Recent Activity, Most Popular).  That would be a nice enhancement.

In the meantime, you might consider adding an alphabetical listing at the top of the Blogs page.  Or if you have many Blog Channels, you could simply add a link up there that says something like "View Channels Alphabetically" which links to a wiki page that lists them out alphabetically.

That would be a great widget, and I will suggest this to the Development team, I do have one question on that. in sorting alphabetically would it no potentially lead you to old information first?

Blogs are an ideal tool for stimulating cross-team discussions, sharing expertise and unlocking new ideas. Think of a blog as an online editorial or article that expresses an author's opinion, observations or expertise on specific topics, events or activities. Members within an online community can create their own blog on a specific topic and/or comment and pose questions to other bloggers within the community.
