October Product Update: Introducing New Features

On Tuesday, October 11th, IGLOO will unveil some pretty cool features, notably enhancements to group collaboration, a recycle bin and the ability to add social bookmarks.

Firstly, we've also added some new capabilities for managing group spaces. A group space administrator can now create and manage a space, choosing from an IGLOO template, cloning an existing space or starting from scratch. This should accelerate the time it takes to form a new space.

    • Moderation can be enabled on a per channel basis. Moderators are assigned to each channel.
    • Enabling content moderation forces all contributions to be sent to a moderator(s) for approval.

Internet Explorer 9 Support

Support Changes:

  • We will offically be support Internet Explorer 9 and Google's Chrome as of this release
  • We will start phasing out support for Internet Explorer 7 as new features are introduced in future releases after this

The IGLOO Desktop Client is currently only compatible with Microsoft XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 x32 bit operating systems. Currently there is no support for 64 bit Windows.

The Desktop Client is an extension of Microsoft Windows Explorer and is used to display community work areas as folders and files on a user's PC desktop.  The most common operations performed on a folder/file within an IGLOO community can now be performed from your desktop.

To be able to use the Desktop Client you must be a member of the customer care community and be in our list of participating communities.

  • Reservation on Wiki Articles: Editing a wiki article will automatically reserve it and will notify any user who's attempting to edit the same article that it's currently being modified.

The IGLOO Software team is pleased to announce our latest release is out!

Our latest release is up and running, here are some of the highlights. 

Control Panel Update

Community administrators are now able to add members directly to a community using the control panel.

Documents Application
You are now able to toggle your folder view between details view and thumbnail views.

Recent Activity Widget 
The recent activity widget has a new layout option which allows for a better fit in the right or left columns of your community pages.
